This term our integrated learning or topic is on Social Justice. This is difficult for us to understand, so we have started by thinking about our needs and wants. Needs are things that we need to live and wants are things that we can have but are not a must to survive.
When we circled all the things we own that are 'Wants' items, we found that we were quite lucky to have all that we do!
We also talked about why the 6 main 'Needs' identified are important for us to survive.
This sparked a great conversation in our class. Our needs were similar, although some of the boys thought playstation was a need. This exercise is great for extended learning conversations and sharing opinions. Well done!

ReplyDeletei like how you added all these cool ideas and things that we want at school if you got fortnite i would be confused but at least no fortnite other wise everybody will be playing fortnite
and in ruma rima room five we did the same thing with our persuassive writing maybe work on information of what they said about what they want and why they want it like fortnite

I like how you thought of things that are special, and things that aren't very special and needy. Another thing I like is how you added different topics of things instead of just food for example.
Was it hard to discuss what things are needs and want, because some people may think one thing is a need and the other people thing it's a want?
